Video games have become an entwined component of current culture. Many have claimed that video games have the ability to make learning fun and engaging, and have proclaimed them as innovations that can redefine education. Yet there doesn't seem to be a national movement to integrate video games into education. The purpose of this evaluation study was to determine the factors that would assist or deter K-12 teachers in the use of video games as instructional tools. The Stages of Concern Questionnaire and Educator Familiarity and Evaluation Survey were provided in an online format to 390 participants.Familiarity In this study a participanta#39;s familiarity will be based on their use of video games for leisure and as teaching tools. It will also include the amount of experience participants have had through training with the use of video games as instructional tools. ... It is important to note that this study will deal only with using video games in education and not older traditional games, such as board games.
