The story of my 37 day trip around Europe, taking in sixteen countries, from the wilds of Finnish Lapland to beautiful Budapest and romantic, sophisticated Paris via the small town charm of Zakopane, problems only arising when my plan to have no plan philosophy hit some serious snags. Highlights included watching football in Tallinn with a Tony Soprano lookalike, being saved from homelessness by Finland's third best wrestler, the wonder of Norway's stunning landscape, the surprises offered by Krakow and Bratislava, and a perfect last night in Paris. Lowlights included an ill-advised night hike through the Norwegian mountains, stalker issues in Geneva, budget shattering prices in Scandinavia, a tourist crisis in Prague, police drama in Western Austria, and plenty of last minute dashes for trains and buses.
