About the AuthorKristiLynn Valdez was diagnosed with bipolar disorder with psychotic features in August 2009 after a manic episode nearly took her life. Born in 1962, she survived a childhood of sexual abuse and has lived most of her life with depression, panic attacks and post-traumatic stress disorder, finally being diagnosed and treated for those beginning in 1990. KristiLynn has a degree in journalism and spent 20-plus years as a newspaper reporter, editor and public relations writer.
