Christian Heinrich Gustave Hein (1834-1902) married Albertine Wilhemine Henrietta Matter in 1856, and the family immigrated in 1882 from Germany to land near Huron, South Dakota. Descendants lived in South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado and elsewhere.LaVonne Hein Metter. The Rayville store was built in 1890 by Charles Ray. It was a grocery store until the 1940a#39;s. It was used by James Skow as a hardware-repair store until 1967. The original blacksmith shop stood until 1932 when it burned.
