Results. The conceptual model was a useful guide for the study. The study findings revealed that implementing practice guidelines with a collaborative model yielded high quality outcomes for patients with INPH, better than most of the documented outcomes identified in the evidentiary tables (Bergsneider et al., 2005).Patwardhan (2005) identified the billion- dollar-a year costs of hydrocephalus treatments. He (2005) found that shunt procedure costs were paid by private insurance about 44 % of the time and by Medicare or Medicaid about 50% of the time.
