The Self-Mover's Bible is a start-to-finish tutorial for do-it-yourself movers with a focus on long-distance moves. The book is well illustrated and written in the same simple terms that I have used as a moving company owner for over 25 years to explain the process and procedures to my customers. The book is more than just a qhow-toq in that it explains the importance of choreographing a move with the whole process laid out in a logical and user-friendly way that streamlines the effort and reduces complications. Beginning with the use of a simple qcube sheetq for estimating size and weight, offering tips and warnings about hiring packing and loading labor, showing how to competitively shop for rental trucks, U-Haul is the only truck that is low to the ground (as opposed to dock height) and is by far the easiest to load. They have ... U-Haul does not rent trailers to customers driving Budget or Penske trucks. However ... Gas trucks get fewer miles per gallon (4-6) compared to diesel (7-10). This can add up on a cross- country move.
